Hi, I have a stock PC setup and was wondering how I'd go about upgrading the video card.

I'd like to do it within the next week or so.

I have a Dell Inspiron 560 PC, Pentium (R) Dual-Core CPU - E5700 @3.00 - GHz - 3.00 GHz, 6 GB RAM, 1920 x 1080 Screen Resolution.

I figured I'd order from Newegg.

Budget is around 300, I just want to play Diablo 3 in much better quality than the stock Intel(R) G45 / G43 runs it. Also do I need to do further upgrades than just the video card? Hope it doesn't get too pricey..

All help is appreciated, thanks.

Are you using a S-IPS for those display settings? If so do you notice any ghosting, I ask because I'd love to get an S-IPS monitor but have heard they are not good for gaming

Not sure the PSU, was looking at the Geforce 550 TI on new egg. It seems well priced, and it highly rated for supported video cards for diablo 3.

Would I need to do further upgrades though?

Get a 6850, you don't have to get the juiciest candy out there, I have it and it plays everything just fine at max settings, on 1440x900 resolution. BTF3 on ultra btw. In ram you're fine, but get a better PSU, a Corsair builder series, 430 w, that's what I have. Barely hearing anything.

D3 @ 1920x1080 with your PSU? 6770 FTW!

or upgrade that PSU and overclock that E5700 10%+ for a much better card :)

Get a Sapphire HD6950 Newegg has the Sapphire on sale fir $199 which would leave more than enough for a good PSU and still be under your $300 mark.

However I would check your case to see if such a long card will fit before you buy. The Hd6950 is a long card.

Yeah I'm kind of worried about that.

good catch i missed that.

though as with most replies it seems a good idea for the OP to get the best GPU with a psu he can. if it is out of balance on his system AMT he can use those components when upgrading to a better platform (cpu, mobo and ram).

Thanks for all the help, I decided on the gtx 550 TI. Don't really need anything too crazy, and I just ran into some car trouble so money is tighter than I expected.
