Here goes my specs:

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz Black 8GB (2x4)
GPU: NVIDIA Gtx 460 1GB (First one released with overclock to 765MHz)

GPU. That 460, while not a bad card, is clearly the next part to upgrade for a 1080p gaming system. how much are you willing to spend? what settings (medium, high, ultra, etc.) are you trying to hit?

Hmm I always thought an SSD would be the first thing. Guess I was wrong. Actually I'm not trying to hit any "settings", just trying to get the best price/performance ratio. So my question would be. Which GPU is really worth it AND gives a noticeable improvement.

I wouldn't say that my opinion is the rule (you can think that if you want lol). I just figured that, since you have a GTX 460 that the main purpose of your rig was gaming, and given that it's two generations old and you have a 1080p monitor, you would probably want some more muscle to get a nice, smooth gaming experience at higher settings. If you're happy with your 460, and you just want to speed up your system in general, then by all means get an SSD.

If you want a better gaming experience, you could get anything from this GTX 670 for $400...

to this HD 7870 for $280...

to this HD 6950 for $230...

Exactly, the main purpose of my rig is gaming. Currently i'm not playing any games that can max out my GPU though. Just thinking for the long run. I just read that the GTX 660Ti may be coming out in august. Should I wait? And if it doesn't come out, is the HD 7870 worth the 60 dollars more than a GTX 480? (only one tier up in hierarchy according to tom's)
