Help new build won't recognize hard drive

hey guys I just finished building my first pc, but when I go to install windows 7 it can't find my hard drive. I'm using a gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 mb and a oem seagate st1000dm003. when I go into the bios screen it shows the hard drive there in the right slot, so I assume it is plugged in correctly. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

also to clarify I've set the sata controller to ide, and windows install is saying there's no signed driver. This also means it won't let me format the drive. Oh and I've tried disabling the signed driver enforcement by hitting f4 before it boots but no luck

Exact same problem with same mb but mine won't even show in the bios most the time every now again it will :/
