Card almost burnt ?

So my gtx 580 ran for like 1 hour at 97ºC and I didn't notice,could have done any damage to the card ?

Were there any artifacts or other graphics glitches? Does it work ok now? Thats about the max temp that card should reach, you need to keep it cooler than that. I would check to see if the heat sink and fan are all gunked up with dust and dirt. If so use compresed air to clean it off. Also, maybe your case needs better airflow.
If it seems to work ok there is probably no damage, but if the temp goes any higher you could damage it because 97c is the max temp for that card

no, no artifacts, i was playing and the game just slow down sometimes I guess the heat protection but i didnt think about it till i saw the temperature when alt tabbed >_>, the fans were running very low because the fan controller was deactivated for some unknown reason.

I just want to be sure my card isnt going to die some days later.... the card never went up 97ºC but still is too much i don't like it to go more than 70ºC but this time i didnt notice the temp got past that much, is the first time this happens.
