Hello, can someone please tell me if this build would be good for most gaming, and a good optical drive with it?

IMO i7 for a gaming is an overkill, just get a i5 like the i5-3570k and invest the extra money in a better gpu.
If you're not planning to go SLI/Crossfire and OC your CPU/GPU then you'll be good with a 650 w power supply.
Can't realy give advice for the optical drive, I just got the cheapest one there was, not really using CD's or DVD's. Hope that helps!

Oh, and if you decide to get an Ivy Bridge CPU remeber to get a z77 MOBO
