8-pin power connector?

I was lookin at the GA-970A-D3 mobo, which has an 8-pin CPU power connector, and was planning on using the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor.
I have a PSU, but i'm 98% sure it doesn't have the 8-pin connector (Thermaltake TR2 W0388RU 600W ATX).... but it does have the ATX 12V 4+4 pin... just wondering/making sure, that doing the 4+4==8 will work correctly (as intended with this combo)
I've read that some are square, while some are rounded, which causes issues when trying to connect a 4+4 to an 8pin CPU power connector.

Anyone have any ideas on this one?

4+4 pin and 8 pin are the exact same thing. No difference other than the 4+4 being able to be split in half.

4+4 makes 8pin! It will work fine. just make sure you join it correctly then it can only go in one way.

Lol... thanks. I THOUGHT it was that simple (easy to make 4+4, to suit 4 OR 8), but i wasn't 100% sure.
