Flickering small dots on monitor

Hi all,i am getting small flickering clear dots on my monitor,i have a hd 6950 GPU, the flickering is very slight but annoying while playing some game like silent hunter 4 and darkest hour in which theses games show,s the flickering worse,its not only in game the flickering is even at the desktop it is still flickering and is more noticeable if i change to windows classic theme,can anyone shed some light on this subject,or a way to fix it,has my grapics card had it?any help would be great,thanks all

Hi

Can you please list your full system specs including the power supply make and model?

Have you tried the usual stuff like installing the latest AMD driver, re-seating the graphics card, checking the temps ETC..?

Gigabite-x58-ud3r
i7 920
6 gig dd3 ram 1600mhz
HD 6950
Coolermaster 850Watt PSU
1 tb hitachi HDD
29" HANNS.G monitor
Win 7 64 bit

Yes i have tryed to reinstall the drivers and re-seated the grapics card and still am having the problem,the grapics card is staying around 38 degree,s at idle

Thanks, your system specs are fine, are you able to test the graphics card in another system?

I'd also try a different monitor and cable if possible.

Anything overclocked?

Hi m8,thanks for your reply,yes i have found out the problem,its my monitor at fault,luckly it has a 3 year warranty so i should be able to get a new one,thanks for your help

If it is just stuck pixels sometimes you can fix this yourself just give the pixel a good firm poke. I know it sounds like I am joking but im not just tap it a few times I have fixed several this way on peoples computers.
