So windows 8 detect fx-4100 as dual core with 4 thread (2c/4t). Finally its clear that AMD Bulldozer cores works as Intel hyper thread and windows 8 detect them as threads.

Bulldozer has module which windows 8 detect as core and module has two integer core which windows 8 detect as thread.

Its like Intel 1st gen i3 cpu without IGP. In that scale, AMD is doing great. They just dont need to show as 4/6/8 cores, just 2/3/4 cores.

Windows 8 understand fx cpu as they are. But win 7 dont. Fx cores are like intel SMT. Thats why windows 8 detect them as 4 threaded dual core cpu.

iIRC, Isn't that the whole point of BD/PD? Semi-virtual hyperthreading?

Yes, it is. But AMD market them as true quad-core as their scale. They should have point that. But they are not traditional quad core/hexa core/octo core.

New fx cpus are module(core) with two integer core/thread. The "module", described as two logical cores, can be contrasted with a single Intel core with HyperThreading. The only difference between the two approaches is that Bulldozer provides dedicated schedulers and integer units for each thread, whereas in Intel's core all threads must compete for available execution resources.

AMD misleading people by marketing them as multi-core processor. They should have stop doing this. Money dont fall from tree. People should have buy i3 cpu which is better than FX quad core(a true dual core).
