Ok so I just got all my parts and everything. And I'm on my last step of installing the stock cpu heatsink.(I ordered a aftermarket but doesn't come until next week, I'm am inpatient guy.) I tried to install the heatsink but it wouln't latch on to the motherboard so I kind of forced it in there with like a LOT of pressure, any chance I damaged the CPU?

  1. Just run Prime 95 on the machine and if it can last 2-3 hours then you'll be fine
  2. Hi, I can't run it without my cooler arrived yet. I already wasted the thermal paste on the stock heatsink and don't have any right this instant. What I'm asking is if too much pressure on a CPU can damage it because I forced the heatsink in with like half my weight. 160 pounds
