I just built a new computer and it shuts down when stressed; such as running system rating on Windows 7 and playing games.

My setup is:
Gigabyte GA 970A D-3
Sapphire Radeon HD 4770 (HD 7850 ON THE WAY)
AMD FX-8320 Black Edition
Kingston 8GB 1600MHz

My old setup had no problem with the same power supply (520W but it's a pretty cheap psu) and it is quite old now. I am wondering how many watts this setup will need to be stable or if there are any other problems that I am not thinking of.

I appreciate your answers :).

Hi - if you get a quality PSU, Seasonic, Corsair, XFX, Antec, you only need 400w or so.
That sys with the 7850 should pull less than 300w.
However, if you're repl a 520w unit, you may want to get something in that range,
you will have plenty of headroom to spare.

Hi again - if you are going to consider the cx500 for $50net, then you should consider the cx600
as it also nets to $50 at Newegg.
