GTX 670 Performance in Battlefield 3 multiplayer at stock clocks ?

if anyone has that card ... please write here how good gtx 670 performs at STOCK CLOCKS !!! in Battlefield 3 multiplayer with 64 players map ... on karkand map .. for example gulf of oman or sharqi penisuila ...

tell me

min/avg/max fps ........ most imortant is minimum fps .... does it dips below 40 or not ?
sure i mean when all settings are on full ultra 4x msaa (motion bluc can be off ) .....

minimum fps will be when you face whole map with actions and explosions .... if you have such experience pelase post here :)  because i will buy gtx 670 for battlefield 3 ....

oh yes and my resolution is 1920x1080

There's some info. 1080p on ultra details at 4xAA will average you about 72FPS.

I haven't found one that counts minimum FPS yet but there might be one out there. I'd estimate a 20fps frame drop if something blows up in your face or something like that. That's a really really rough estimate though.

20 fps ? that means i will get minimum 40 fps roughly .... that good for me :) 

sad that there is no multiplayer benchmarks ... single player is less demanding you know ...


benchamrks are more optimistic .... that is a reason why i wanted to know performance from person who palyer MP on demanding maps :) 

Yeah, multiplayer is definitely more intense and uses more gpu and cpu power. I don't own the game so I can't give any personal experience, but I have to believe someone on this forum has the 670 and BF3, so I'd hang on and wait to see what they say.

In 5 weeks you have accumulated over 1800 forum points and no doubt nearly all of them are from your threads on which gpu to buy. Just get the 680 and be done with it. :pt1cable:

Here's a question for you:
At what point in your quest for youtube videos of gameplay would you be satisfied with your information, make a graphics card purchase, and be happy with it?

My guess: never. You seem so terrified that you might get performance that you don't want that you can't just make a purchase and be happy with it.

from all of those videos card is overlcocked and maybe you have forgotten that im not overcklocker !!! and want to know performance at stock clocks !

That HardOCP article is stock clocks. The problem is that you think you're too good for graphics card reviews.

GPU reviews are done the way they are for a reason. They are not designed to give you a worst case scenario for the card, they are designed to give you an accurate description of how the card performs during typical gaming scenarios relative to other graphics cards.

but i want to know worst scenario ! and i don't understand why don't you like idea with gtx 670 ??? if you read many reviews like me .. you have to know that gtx 670 has like 10-12 fps more in battlefield 3 then 7970 .... and don't forget nvidia drivers witch will boost 600 series cards !

This. And reviews show that it's about ~10% faster in BF3 at max 1080p than a stock 7970 on average, give or take. You need to stop posting the same thing a million times and just buy a card and be happy with it. If you are really THAT worried about performance, you need to run a dual-GPU setup like the 690.

If you want worst case scenario, go make a 1000 barrel tower in Crysis and blow it up. I guarantee you that will make the GTX 670 cry.

At your resolution the 670 has 4 more FPS not 12. Why are you so afraid of overclocking. It's not like you have to play with damaging voltages or anything. Simply use the supplied utility from Nvidia or AMD or just use afterburner and turn up the gpu and memory clock. You don't have to be an 'overclocker'. That superclocked 670 in the tom's review has a stock of 967 MHz and an official overclock of 1046 MHz. Just like the 7970 that you bought two weeks ago and then for some reason removed from your computer and went back to the 560 or whatever you were using has a stock of 925MHz/1375MHz and an official overclock of 1125MHz/1575MHz. Consider it a turbo boost. As an example, at 6048x1080 in full ultra I can only get about 48 FPS in 64 player multiplayer with two 7970's at stock settings. Running at the official overclock limit I was averaging 70FPS. That is a huge performance boost for simply turning up the dial on the gpu and memory clock. Their really isn't any risk involved since with a custom fan profile my max temp is 70 degrees and the cards are running on stock voltage. Even with the 670 you can simply turn up the clocks and get an instant performance increase. If you are limiting yourself to stock frequencies, you really should get the 680 and you probably still won't be happy with it based on how quickly you returned the 7970.

Even in worst case scenario, you won't find anything better than GTX 680 (apart from multi GPU setups). GTX 670 is a bit lower. If your budget is not above $500, get GTX 670 and that's it. There's nothing else you can get that is better. Period.

oaky dude ...then i will go for gtx 670.... maybe for gtx 670 SOC .... because 20$ wil give me 5-6% performance boost .... but gtx 670 SOC will perfrom same as 680 ... so i will save 80$ i think :) 

gtx 680 SOC will cost 100$ more for me and it's useless i think with my resolution ofc ^^

fyi if you want to veiw fps while playing battel field 3 you have to hold down ctr + ALt +s and you will get your fps .. with 2 6870s in crossfire get up wards of 100 while playing on high defult settings in multi player also im running a 1090t .. at 3.6 Ghz could go higher on the cpu over clock but not really all that important .. i find this works best for me.. i can play all ultra settings with msaa turned off at 50~60 fps just an fyi..

You know, dark, most of us on tom's make our primary purchase decisions based on scanning multiple reviews from multiple sites (i.e. researching). In the main, we use forums like this for answers to specific questions not covered in these reviews, though the better and more thorough you are at researching (combined with what you already know) the little you need to depend on answers here.....and the closer 'you'll get to the truth' !!

Now, We're kinda being led to believe that you've already done a fair bit of researching, and of course, been provided with more than your fair share from tom's very patient forum members.

Kindly make your choice and pay your money :)  A 670 will serve you well for some time to come....have fun :)

Get the Asus GTX 670 DirectCU II TOP. It has the highest factory overclock and also the quietest fans. Perfect for out of the box gaming and a significant boost over the reference model.

Yeah the GTX670 is awesome. BF3 is so smooth now that aiming is a piece of cake. Before I got the new computer I was playing on all low settings getting about 32fps so going to a consistent sixty makes a massive difference in the experience.

I got the EVGA version. Playing BF3 it stays at a consistent 80C in my Corsair 300r which is the load temp that the Tomshardware review had listed. All other games I've played so far(Skyrim, Civ V, BFBC2) are well below 80.

Also a quick note since each BF3 map is kind of unique in frames per second some maps get way better FPS and some get way worse so depending on how anal you are about FPS you may end up running something less than the Ultra preset. I'm running some settings on high and lowered the MSAA and a few other things to guarantee more than 60 fps at all times on all maps.

for me 40-60 fps is ideal .. don't need constant 60 fps to kill people fast ^^ im good even at 40-45 ^^ only problem was suttering when 60 drops to 40 too fast ..... or 40 fps becomes 60 insantly ... thnx god nvidia has adaptive v sync witch fixed that ^^ so no problem with non constant 60 ^^

This is a public service announcement to everyone who might post in his threads trying to help him figure out high end GPU performance: it's a waste of your time.

Dark has no idea what he thinks or what he wants, and no amount of advice or evidence is good enough for him to make a purchase. At this point, I guess he's planning to get a GTX 670, and hopefully that will make him happy.

if you look at palit jetstream 4gb version .. you will see that it's same as 2gb version .. nothing was changed expect 4gb of ram ....

only thing i know for sure ... 2gb version of gtx 680 is useless ... i even prefer gtx 580 3 gb version .... so there is a two ways ... get 7970 or 4g version of gtx 680 .... but as i said ... kelper looks to straing .. how to say it ... for me fermi cards looked more solid with stronger shaders and better memory interface ..... even 7970 tahiti looks more solid for me :) 

but ask yourself ... nvidia future are really useful for you ?

nvidia : TXAA , Adaptive Vsync , Physx
AMD : MLAA 2.0 , Adaptive SSMA , Zero core , extra 1GB vram + better bus interface

it's up to you .. im like you dude for 2 week i can't make decide :)  we are on the same boat

7970 dips below 30 .. when gtx 580 has only 32-35 dips .... my friend gave me that card and it's strange why 7970 performs so bad compared to the old 580 .... only game it ran good was metro and AVP ,,,,

Where are you getting these numbers from? I am beginning to wonder if you did buy the 7970 like you claimed to have done a few weeks ago. For someone with no money, you certainly have had access to many different high end gpu's based on all your posts in this forum. Could it be you are just regurgitating things you have read? Anyway, good luck with your search for the perfect gpu. I am out.

Dude just buy the card lol I'm so bad with hardware but from your thread people clearly said get 7970 if you are planning on overclocking because it is better when OC'ed and it overclocks better than 670 but if you are not going to overclock=670

Anyway I want to ask why is asus 670 £517 when 2 days ago the price was £340?jesus those prices lol

No Idea but at the moment 670 is more expensive than 680 in amazon.co.uk.. £490 is like 800$ in Bulgaria..=1200 BGN zzz what's up with this..i swear 3-4 day ago they were 320-340 and now 450-500 zz anyway xD gl and get 670 stop asking :p  670 is a beast for that money
