New GPU upgrade

hello forum i am thinking of upgrading my GPU

my current GPU is amd 7770, i want to be able to play battlefield 3 on ultra 1080p smoothly with 60fps

can you give me suggestions on which is the cheapest graphics card to buy right now to run those settings that i said and my current CPU is i3 2120 also i have 8gb of ram running windows 7 64 bit

The GTX 670 will average it out at about 65FPS. This doesn't include events that could bring the frame rate down (big close-by explosions, lots of stuff happening.
The Radeon HD7970 is a tiny bit faster than this card.

But your real problem here is the CPU. BF3 is a multithreaded game and so the i3 does not perform well with it.

it has got 2 cores and 4 threads i checked online its ok for running it ultra

You know what, you're right. I don't know which generation doesn't have hyperthreading but they made them have it while I wasn't looking :O
Anyway, yeah. the GTX 670 is about $400 and the 7970 is like $450. They're close in performance. I'm honestly surprised the 7970 isn't cheaper by now.. it might go down in price.
