I know that crucial is the best but how much should i upgrade it too? Ive heard ME has problems with 512mb ram. WhAT should i do?

As RAM is so cheap, add an extra 256MB - you probably won't be making full use of this amount, so no need to increase even further.

I think Windows Me has problems with amount of memory over 512MB, but can deal with 512MB.

Adding memory isn't necessarily going to do anything for you. Check the FAQ's at http://www.crucial.com to see if you need more memory based on what you use your computer for.

Over 512MB ME might have problems, just like 98SE.

For all the cost of 2 x 256MB sticks, you'll see quite a difference.

I'm not sure if this applies to ME, so maybe someone can confirm this, but it works in 98SE.

In the system.ini file go to the 386Enh section. Add the line "ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1" after the last line. Save the change and re-boot. This will ensure all the memory gets used before the swapfile does.

Unless your working with some some type of software that eat up alot of ram anything over 256MB will get you no bonus on performance in Win9x. I would buy 1 256MB CL2 Dimm. If your looking for more performance you'll get more out of tweaking WinME then a Ram Upgrade.
