I will be adding 256mb of memory to my computer that already has a single 128mb module. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the order you put these in (256 in slot 1, 128 in slot 2 - or vice versa...?) changes system performance. Is there any truth to this - does someone have the answer?

Your right!

Put the largest sticks into the first and subsequent slots. This will allow the access to more memory, without looking to the next slot.
