I am planing to build my old pc to a new for gaming...and i want to ask if my psu would be enough.

amd phenom ii x4 965 be
2x2 gb 1600 mhz
Asus HD6770 ddr5 1gb
ASROCK N68-GS3 UCC
seagate baracuda 250gb sata2
psu thermaltake tr 420W

the main thing is that i heard that this psu does not provide the labeled power, what i mean with this;the psu says that provides 420w but it provides only 350w,is that true? if yes should i upgrade my psu or it would be ok to handle my system?

thank you.

Yes it will probably run it. But it's a bad power supply. One of the worst you can buy. Look at the link I posted above. The TR2 is tier 5 the worst there is. It is known to have very high ripple and noise and to not provide clean power. When stressed it can go so far out of spec it can damage your other components.

You still have a TR2. The entire line is junk. And has been said like 5 times now it will probably run your system BUT it's still junk, and it can be so bad it will damage other components.

Here is a review of the 750w version.

If you want a quality power supply go with Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, XFX, Silverstone, Enermax, OCZ, Antec or some of the higher efficiency Rosewill units.

Also if that unit is 7 years old I almost guarantee you the capacitors are likely bulging. A modern, high quality power supply with all Japanese solid caps will last 7 years with no problems but not some low quality unit with made in China caps like yours.
