What cpu to get? 2 choices, Please Help.

Alright, first off. Here is my current specs with cpu and mother board. if in any way there is a problem that might make it impossible to not use a card please tell me, here are my specs =

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 33 °C
Manchester 90nm Technology

RAM
4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR @ 167MHz (2.5-3-3-7)

Motherboard
C51MCP51 (Socket 939) 12 °C

Graphics
DELL E173FP (1280x1024@60Hz)
ATI Radeon HD 5500 Series (VISIONTEK

Ok, now to get too the question. My 2 choices i have come up with is the

AMD FX-4170 4.2GHz (4.3GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Quad-Core Desktop Processor

or the

AMD FX-6200 3.8GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Six-Core Desktop Processor

I am using these for gaming and want the one that can run the latest and best graphic games without a problem of lag. Please help.

  1. If you want to go, AMD, I recommend the new pile driver CPU's. (4300, 6300 etc.) I think the 6300 is a good value.

    That being said, no CPU is going to get you great gaming performance without a good graphics card.
  2. i got a good video card, i can max out assasains creed revalations and cod mw2. but on "canyourunit" most games it says i need to upgrade my cpu. yet most games my graphics cards exceeds in
