Linksys wireless card wmp11 will not connect to internet

I am trying to connect to the internet with a linksys wmp11 wireless running windows xp. I canconnect to the net work by I cannot connect to the internet. When I am looking at the properteis for the card I see the the card has dhcp inabled and I cannot disable.

that wireless network card does only support WEP wireless mode.

if your router is configured to use WPA or WPA2, it will not work.

I have a d-link router with a guest account set up with wep so I connect to the router but I cannot access the web. I keep getting a 168.xxx.xxx.xxx ip. I have tried a static ip but still canot access.

try to disable the wireless security and see if you can connect.

I had to turn off the windows firewall and restart the machine, restart the firewall and set explorer to work online not offline.
