Hello, I was wondering if I could possibly SLI a GTX 670 with a GTX 680 - this is theoretical question because btoh of these GPU share the GK104 core with one SMX engine disabled. Just wondering - because AMD said that you can CrossfireX models with the same branch - ie 79xx with another 79xx or a 78xx with a 78xx. Just wondering. Thanks!

To expand on that brilliant answer, for Nvidia SLI both cards have to be the same model. Different manufacturers and different factory clock speeds is okay. Even if the GPU's are both GK104's, the drivers would prevent you from pairing a 680 and a 670.
