i haven't seen it before, looks informational to say the least. lots of
good reading there. looks to be a "must read" for admins.

i'll pass this to our admin list and we'll go through it for sure.

I like what it says about Punkbuster, on the RTCW section, and by
inferance to BF1942, keeps the causual cheaters away.
Why do Morons want to cheat in a game anyway, with the Battlefield
games, theres so much to do, you can always find something you are good at.

QUOTE

Punkbuster is heavily integrated with the game binary , that means
Evenbalance has full access to the engine code and the neccesary
resources required to prevent cheating , and receives direct support
from Id software.

The Punkbuster team's primary job is to locate all new cheats and
release updates that make them obsolete.. this is done by the autoupdate
system , that updates punkbuster every time you join a PB enabled server
and the player dosnt have to worry about manual updates. When a cheat
comes out , punkbuster is updated normaly withing 3 days and makes the
cheats useless. What took a cheat coder a few months to create , has
been made useless in a few days by the dedicated punkbuster team.
The cheat creators to start of , have tried endlesly to get around
punkbuster , but to no avail and eventualy it led to them not releasing
cheats to websites/ftp's and keeping them private so that they wont get
eliminated withing days. This ofcourse has led to a huge decrease of
casual cheaters , and even cheat creator's who have decided it's a
pointless strugle and moved on to less secure games. But there is still
a hardcore underground cheating group who is always trying to outsmart
the evenbalance team , to current date without success...

They don't really expect someone with half a brain to believe that, do
they? Actually, that's how PB would like the reality to be. As with
numerous others would-like-to things it didn't work so far.
