Hi All,

This is my first thread. My current desktop specs are as follows-

1. Mobo - Intel DG965RY Classic Series - LGA775
2. CPU - Intel Pentium XE 925 3.0GHz [Presler]
3. RAM - 2 GB DDR2 Kingston [ KVM667Q2N5/1G 1.8V ]
4. GPU - I got two of this - 1. Zebronics GeForce 7600GT 256MB [ AX-76GT/256D3P8CDHT ] - Currently using
2. XFX GeForce 9500GT 550M 1GB [ PV-T95G-ZAPV-T95G-ZAFQ VG.8 ] - Screen Issue;See screenshot link.

5. HDD - Seagate Barracuda 250GB SATA 7200 RPM [ ST3250310AS ]
6. PSU - Zebronics Gold Series 450 Watt
7. OS - Win XP Pro SP3 [32-bit]

Let me know if only adding 4GB DDR2 667 MHz RAM or upgrading GPU will make this futureproof for atleast 2-2.5 yrs.

As for GPU,I want to go for a GDDR5.Please suggest me which one to go for? Budget is 3.5 ~ 4.5k INR.

Well, does the 3.5 to 4.5k INR need to include a new monitor?

Personally, I might throw some RAM into it and leave the rest be. 3.5 INR is like 60 bucks right? You might be able to buy some parts off of ebay for that.

@Macten....nope...monitor stays the same....like i said...it works perfect when i'm using the 7600GT.
I'm increasing the budget to 5.5k INR. ~ 99$

@batuchka.....main function - budget gaming pc - no issue with low details/settings,
just dx11 based games can be playable....

I was looking at HD5670 512MB GDDR5....is it good??
If so,which retailer to go for?

Okay....let's say I get 4GB RAM 800MHz (2X2 GB), will this be compatible with my existing 2GB 667MHz ??

And also I have looked up & liked the MSI HD R6670-MD1GD5 [Twin-fan edition]..... :D :D

After this upgrade,will I be able to play latest DX11 games [Crysis 2,TC:Future Soldier,BF3,upcoming games like - NFS:Most Wanted,Hitman:Absolution,Medal of Honor:Warfighter etc.]

no, don't buy 4GB more ram. you have a 32bit O/S which can only take 4GB max and you already have 2GB. buy 2GB more for a total of 4GB.
your motherboard had 4 DIMM slots, you're only using 2 with 1GB stick in each. if you can, buy 2 1GB sticks of RAM identical to the ones you already have. if you can't find identical sticks then find 2 with same voltage and timings and it should be fine.

Hi Branden,

I have ordered for both 2GB (2X1GB) 667MHz DDR2 RAM and MSI R6670-MD1GD5 (Twin-fan version) on FlipKart.
After this upgrade, will I be able to play aforementioned games ? - Low details/setings is not an issue.

Thanks.

NFS:MW 2012 - http://i50.tinypic.com/259k1nt.jpg

Spec Ops:The Line - http://i46.tinypic.com/qy9wg4.jpg

F.E.A.R. 3 - http://i48.tinypic.com/2z6rvbm.jpg

Batman:Arkham City - http://i49.tinypic.com/2d6kiq.jpg

If this is the scenario, I'd like to upgrade the CPU too.Any suggestions? It must be compatible with Intel DG965RY mobo.
Also.does my mobo support Win 7 HomePremium/Ultimate OS?
