Will Electrical tape prevent short circuit

I just recently bought a pci fan and have found it rattles a bit when installing and I am afraid it will short my motherboard if it hits against it. Will applying electrical tape to bottom of pci fans metal guard prevent this and will it hold. Have not installed it yet because of this. Thanks for the replies in advance.

My shops sell those type, just screw the top screw in and it SHOULD NOT rattle at all...if it does return it...its faulty...

this bracket screw the same way you do with a pci-e graphic card ,that goes to the back of the case extension slot

No need to do anything special.
If you set the screw holding it snug, it should not rattle.
Look carefully to see that the bottom tab of the fan is sitting in the notch of the case so that it does not move around.
The fan guard is probably plastic, but no harm would come with tape.
