Are these two parts compatible?

just built a computer and got this video card

yes it is if your not getting any video check to see if the mb has onboard video and that is working. sometime the onboard is set as first device. also check that you have the video car in the blue video card slot and have all the power cables it needs plugged in some video cards new two 6 or two 8 pin. another issue with amd mb is check the cpu history some amd mb wont boot with new cpu intill the mb bios is updated...sometime you need an older cpu to do this.

Sure. It will work. That is a nice motherboard & can even accomodate 2 of those video cards when you want to upgrade in the future.

His mobo doesn't have Onboard Video Chipset
