Is there any way possible for my Horde main character and Alliance
alternate to send money and items to each other through the mail?

Thanks,

Get both characters to AH in Gadgetzan, log in with character, put item up
for sale for 2 hours (cheapest) with smallest possible buyout, quickly log
in with other character and purchase it, you lose a little/lot of money
depending on what you want to give to other character. I've never tried
this myself but dont see why it wouldnt work, providing no one else buys it

I've never tried to auction money, but I'm guessing you can't do it!
Just give them some high level items that they can sell for a little cash.

This does not work. The game detects that both characters are on the
same account, and will not allow the second character to bid.

Yes, but it involves a third party on a different account, and use of the
Gadgetzan auction house.

You put up item(s) (very very cheaply) on AH.

Third Party Person with other faction character buys item.

Third Party Person mails item to your other faction alt.

You log in other faction alt and receive items.

You can't bid on your own items in the AH with a different character, so
someone else needs to be involved. Ideally someone you trust a lot, cause
it would be trivial for them to completely rip you off, and if they did
there is nothing that you could do about it. A petition to the GMs would
result in them laughing at you.

No, i dont think so but i have an idea that i haven't tried yet.

Go to Gadgetzan and put a worthless item in the AH there for a lot of money
and make your other
alt pay for it. Sort of a reverse process, but should work.

No, it doesn't work. A player cannot bid on his or her own auction.

However, you can get a friend on the other side to buy the item for you.

Why put it up for alot of money, when your alt probably won't have alot of
money, putting it up for the smallest possible amount (1s?) keeps costs
down, it only then costs you main character to to actually auction it.

What would be best is if your main character was an alchemist and could make
swiftness potions, your main character could auction these for about 1s
since to vendors they arent worth a great deal, but then your alt could sell
them for 1g 50 or so

You wouldnt be bidding on your own item though, if your main character puts
it up for auction and then your alt buys it out.

It's the same *PLAYER*. The same person sitting behind the keyboard.

The game detects that the auction was placed by a character on the same
account, and will not allow a bid.

Notice I said "player", not "character". It certainly is a *player*
bidding on his own auction.

I've tried it. The auction house displays a message saying that a player
cannot bid on his own auction.

A character from the same account can't bid on a auction, and having
good items up cheap is a recipe for disaster. The best way to transfer
cross-faction (as someone else has already pointed out) is to put a
worthless item up on the AH for a lot of money (there was a bottle of
water up on Gadgetzan AH last night for 15g). Since characters from the
same account can't bid on the aution, you'll have to get a friend to
either create the auction, or buy it out and fix them up for it.

You can on non-pvp servers.
Still can't buy stuff from one that the other puts in auction though so it
doesn't help :(

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION:

Q: Can I have 2 characters of different factions on the same server?

A: On a Normal or RP server, yes, you can. On a PvP server, no, you can't.

Sorry, but soooooo often I see someone on a.g.w saying flat-out "you
can!", "no you can't!", "yes you can, and I have!", etc.

Cheers!

I already do, on a PvE server.

As has been pointed out that doesn't work. However, working with a
partner, you *can* send things across the border as you describe. It's
a little hairy because there's the possibility that someone else can
come in and snap up your valuable artefact for next to nothing, but
there again, risk adds to the spice of life :)

You can also put things up for high amounts to scare bidders off, which
will get money across, but note that the Tanaris AH takes 15% (I think
- could be 20%) of all transactions.
