Is this processor compatible with this motherboard?

Hello,
I'm pretty new to building computers.
I just bought all of my parts to build a computer, and was wondering if the motherboard and processor will work together.

My friend said they would, I would like to make sure they are.

Motherboard: SUS P8H61-M LX PLUS (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Processor: Intel Core i5 2500K Processor 3.3 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80623I52500K

More about processor compatible motherboard
  1. Yes they can but that's a pricey H61 board and won't allow any OC anyway so could be u better off with a basic but updated H77/B75 with USB/SATA III and a non K Ivy 1155 chip?

    Thanks for the response!

I actually ordered the parts without thinking that I changed the processor, just wanted to find out if it was okay or not. I won't be overclocking the motherboard at all, but thanks for the other suggestions!

I will be doing some basic gaming, browsing, etc. on my new computer.
  3. Ok well depending on what resolution/settings u are taking your games to, hit the best GPU u can afford and also a quality PSU ^^ Yep u are welcomed
