I'm going to get a FX-6300 most likely, but I need to know if its good for playing games over 50 fps on games like BF3 and PlanetSide 2 and BO2. I have a GeForce GTX 550 Ti and 8 GB of RAM and a resolution of 1920x1080

That cpu won't be holding you back. It's going to be your 550 Ti. There are better Intel processors but if you're only gaming at 1080P then perhaps you should upgrade your gpu too. Nothing extreme. A new 7850 or 660 will run perfectly at 1080P.

Well.....
Yes, depends what your aiming for, but it can be a good gaming processor.
But 50+ FPS is a maybe, depends on texture detail, the 550 ti will be holding you back; if anything.

I recommend making a jump to the 7XXX series, preferably a 7850, a good card.

I'm running the FX6300 on a Gigabyte 990FXA UD5 board with 2 7850's in crossfire. I've had to run BF3 on auto to achieve an average of 60fps in 1080p. It's a great processor and I'm glad I picked it over the 955 Black Edition.

I have a fx 6300 + 8gb ram @ 1600mhz + GTX550TI

All settings on low @ 1920x1080p I get average of 58FPS in a 64 player map on conquest LARGE. Same as with CANALS with 64 players team-deathmatch I get an average of 62 fps.

I was hastling to get a new GPU or CPU/ram/mobo. I got the new cpu/ram/mobo and it gave me amazing FPS boost, former FPS was average 25/40, now its 58 to 88 FPS (low settings ofcourse)

If you want to play games at higher settings and a better FPS, I advice you also to get a newer GPU.

Hope this helps you out :)
