Vista Home premieum 32 bit to Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit?

Im running Windows Vista Home Premium on my Dell Inspiron 1721. Can i upgrade to windows 7Ultimate 64 bit software.
I have purchased Windows 7 Ultimate and received both 32 and 64 bit software discs.

No, you cannot upgrade from 32 to 64 bit via any upgrade pathway.
It is reccomended that you do a clean fresh install onto a formatted HDD, when you do this you can install 64 bit or 32 bit but you cannot upgrade from 32 to 64.

Well, you are mostly right. You can upgrade from Vista-32 straight to Win7-32, no reformatting necessary. But upgradiny any Win-32 OS to any Win-64 OS requires a reformat.
