Hey everyone,

So I've been looking into getting another Gigabyte HD6870 to crossfire with my current one and I've been looking around the net wondering what the power needs of such a setup would be, and I'm getting varying answers (between 550W-700W) for the whole system.

I currently have a board with a x16 lane and a x4 lane (sadly I missed it while I was looking over the board specs!), so would this make a difference in power consumption.

So would I have to upgrade my current PSU or can I stick with the one I have. I'm also tempted to grab a new MB with an x8 lane on it (say the Asus P8Z58V-Gen3), would this change the power needs?

Cheers,

Gunny
