Intel compatibility and gtx sli compatibility

I'm trying to build a gaming rig. I would like to find a motherboard that:

1. supports the intel i5 or i7 series,

2. can hold up to 16g RAM,

3. is SLI ready for a GTX 690 GPU. I will only install one 690 now. (I want the SLI capability so in the future I can just add another 690 once graphics advance.)

Any suggestions? I am fairly new to building PCs and am having a hard time weeding through all the motherboards on the market to find one that meets these specs.

Note: Since I am splurging on the 690, I would like something under 300.

I honestly dont keep up with Intel setups, as I see them as being more trouble than they are worth, but I hear you want a Z77 chipset. I REALLY like the Sabertooth motherboards, they are made with military grade parts.

I have the 990FX Sabertooth, its something beautiful.
