Drivers for computer after replacing hard drive.

I implanted a Toshiba hard drive running Windows 7 into an Acer Aspire One body that used to run XP on a smaller drive.
The set up system runs for the most part,
but hangs at startup sometimes and occasionally freezes within Windows too.

Windows downloaded some driver upates, and I download others from Acer. But I think there may still be some conflicts between the two brands.

Short of wiping the hard drive and then reinstalling Windows 7, is there a way I could get the computer to play well with the implanted hard drive ?

Thanks in advance.

You should really format the drive as the software on is licensed for Toshiba and it will perform better.
