Santa Cruz = No Sound

i just put a santa cruz in my machine and about twice a week when i boot up the card is not there. i just installed the new drivers and the same thing happend to me twice in the last couple of days. when the card runs it runs great but if this keeps on happening i may go to sound blaster live value, but i really don't want to, cause i really like the turtle beach and i'm about to build another machine for a friend but i may change sound cards if i can't resolve this problem.

i'm running the following:
pIII 933
128mb ram
hercules 4500 xt 64mb Kyro II
windows 98 se
hp 9150 8x4x32 cdrw
western digital 30gb 7200rpm hd

any ideas as to what the problem might be.

You do NOT want to go to a SBLive. You'd be taking a huge step backwards...

I'm not sure what your problem is, but check the card seating. Mine tried to pop up the inboard end of the PCI connector when the screw was tightened. I had to work with it a bit.
