Hello, I'm still running an aging GTX260 and recently its been acting weird in some games but mostly World of Warcraft. I do run other games like Tera Online, Skyrim, BF3, D3 and most popular games. I dont know how long my GTX260 can keep running(also its a OCX edition from BFG) so i think its time to upgrade. I've been doing research and i have a budget for a new graphics card but im still not 100% sure.

Budget: 100-140$.... 110$ would be perfect but i can go more

CPU: PhenomX4 BE 4Ghz

MoBo: MSI 870A-G54 PCI-E x16 2.0

RAM: Kingston HyperX 1600 8gigs 9-9-9-24

I run games at 1680-1050 resolution

So far i got these
7770--- http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml...

550 ti--- http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml...

If you have anything better please let me know i want a great graphics card at this price, also better than my GTx260 if possible.
Please and thank you =D.

I think a 6850 would be the "near" perfect solution to your problem, I say near perfect b/c you may have to go over budget since it's about $140 before tax.
It will easily handle any game at max or near max settings at the resolution you mentioned [1680 x 1050].
The card also uses less power than the GTX260, therefore I concluded you won't have any power issues.

Also, the 6850 is faster and cheaper than the 7770

6850 vs GTX285 [The site doesn't have a 260gtx benchmark, but since the 6850 is faster than something that's DEFINITELY faster than your 260gtx, who cares?]

I was surprised that microcenters didn't carry 6850s... odd...

Your welcome! Enjoy ^_^

Btw....don't mean to offend you but just in case you don't know, do this procedure in this order;

1) Restart your PC, uninstall your nvidia drivers [yes, you can do this while using your GTX 260, it will simply revert to very basic functions]

2) Shutdown your PC, unplug ALL the cables, uninstall your GTX260

3) Install the 6870, start your PC and install the drivers, restart your PC

4) Time to play D3! :D
