Fx 8350 problems with video

I just tried to install a FX8350 cpu into my sabretooth 990FX motherboard and when I tried to start up, my monitor was not receiving a signal. My motherboard does not have any video out ports so it runs through my GPU (Radeon HD6950), I tried both HDMI and DVI ports, both no signal.
I then re-installed my FX6100 cpu and the video was fine.
Can anyone help? Is there some sort of compatibility issue with the FX8350 and the HD6950?

sounds like you need to update the mobo's BIOS but I would check the asus web site first on your exact mobo model before doing that

You need to update the BIOS to the latest version to support the new AM3+ processors.
