Hello,I have a Dell Dimension 9150 with:
3.00Ghz Pentium D
4GB DDR2 RAM (3.25Gb as Windows is 32bit)
Nvidia (Zotac) Geforce GT220 (1GB)

Would I be able to upgrade my processor to a Core 2 Duo as the Pentium D is getting old and slow meaning newly released games do not support it anymore :(

I'd say that the core2 duo is old and slow and newly released games don't play well with it :)

I just upgraded from a C2D 2.66 because it couldn't run BF3 well even on low (at 1080).

I'd check the Dell site to see how far you can upgrade (there are sometimes BIOS limitations).

It should do any dual core with up to a 1066Mhz FSB from the core 2 range.

Should, but again check with Dell. My MSI mobo never got a BIOS update to support the die-shrunk Duos so I was stuck in first-gen.
