What I'd like to do is build a PC that will function as an HTPC (not a server, just player) with 1080p capability, and simultaneously host multiple 24/7 dedicated game servers (mostly older games, source engine, etc.) - possible in the range of 3 or 4. Ideally I'd like something that I could watch an HD movie on and leave all of the servers running without the players experiencing any lag, and without my movie dropping any frames. I'd like it to be sub $1000 if possible, and it seems like that should be fairly reasonable to ask.
So far I'm thinking:
AMD FX-6120 (six core)
8GB of RAM
64GB SSD for system drive (all programs will run from here)
2TB Green SATA drives for media
Nvidia GT 430
Is this a good start or is this already looking like a bottleneck-fest?
