So I was setting up my friend's new build today. He got a Cooler Master Vortex Plus CPU Cooler/Heatsink. This is being mounted on an ASRock H77 Micro ATX motherboard (LGA 1155). The thing is, when I was mounting the heatsink onto the cpu, the push pins that hold the mounting bracket popped out and broke, rendering the mount and the entire Vortex Plus useless.
I've resorted to mounting the stock Intel cooler for now. Is there any way to just use regular screws for this? I think I read somewhere that M3 screws (I have no idea what M3 is...) can screw into the LGA 1155 holes around the CPU.
Basically, are there any regular aftermarket screws that will allow me to screw in the mounting bracket? If so, what are they called (size, shape, etc.)?
