I'm running out of inventory space :/

Hi all,

a few n00b questions about inventory space:

Where do I get bags? I found two early on, but I have two slots free.

The bags I have are 6 slots, do they get bigger later in the game?

Is there any kind of stash or something? Is that what the mailbox is for
(mailing stuff to yourself)?

TIA

Visit the bank in a major city. You will have a "stash" there where
you can store stuff.

Occasionally, you'll find them as loot on monsters you kill. Or you can
visit the Auction House, where you will find lots of bags for sale by
other players.

Yes. The maximum is sixteen slots, bot those are quite rare and expensive.
Fourteen slot bags are much more reasonably priced.

There is a bank where you can store extra stuff. Try asking a guard where
the bank is.

Bags keep going up in size to 16 slot, and the bottomless bag, that I
never saw... I have not seen a level requirement on any of the bags.

In starting a character buy bags in the auction house (AH). I find that
12 slot bags are the most cost effective, and plentiful in AH. Get one
bag for every bag slot. Also in starting a character it's good to get
some seed capital of about 10g just so you are not limited in any way
buying what you need. Get this from the guild you are, another character
you control, or another player. With good use of the AH and choice of
professions you can pay this back in a few levels. Buy the best armor
and weapon for your level in AH, and do all the instances for your level
asap.

The bank is where you store extra stuff, buy additional bank slots as
needed.

You can't mail stuff to yourself, but you can mail it to an alt for long term
storage if you really need to.

In all major cities you also have a bank with many more slots, and purchasable
room for more bags.

Bags can be purchased from some vendors (the drag in org if you play horde), or
made by a tailor. Tailors can make anything from 6 to 18 slot bags, for varying
prices. If you gather some linen or wool cloth from humanoid mobs, many tailors
will make the bags for free or just get you to pay for the thread they need to
buy.

Supposedly the max is 18 slots, though I have yet to see one in the game:

Can anyone confirm that this is in the game still?

Yes, there will be bigger bags, and you can also deposit your stuff at the
bank.

It is. EU Ravencrest, around 300g for one bag.

Ever seen the tailoring recipie for it? I'd imagine it goes for some rediculus
sum...and probably only stays on the AH for a few minutes.

Would love you get it for my main (300 tailor) on Medivh.

Great, thanks for your help guys, that was just what I needed. I'll go to
bank and AH the next time I'm in Ironforge.

I never really understood the HUGE price differences between the bags.

A 16 slot on my server goes for roughly 8 times the price of a 14
slot. Also, the materials of the bags vary a 14-slot Runecloth Bag,
will go for a much cheaper price then a 14-slot Leather Monkey Bag (i
made that up :p). I understand that maybe its "rarer" or some bags are
harder to make. But who the hell would go for the more expensive one
given the choice?

Style. Wanting to be different than the mass, even if nobody else sees it.

If you have been 60 for a while, gold becomes less significant. Two slots
more for 300g isn't such a bad deal, for instance -- it *is* an
improvement. There just isn't much else to spend money on, which is one of
the bigger problems that I feel WoW has.

As a rogue you need flash powder a lot. You can put say 100 flash powder on
a short term auction in the AH for a 1g starting price. When the auction
expires you have 100 flash powder in your mailbox. No more searching for
shady dealers when you run out of the stuff in far off places. Simply stock
up from your mailbox :).

Cheers all.

Elementary, Watson. Leather wears much better than Runecloth, and is
more resistant to magical damage from fire/frost/arcane sources. Also,
they are much easier to clean (blood just rinses off with water, though
you may have to use a solvent to remove ichor). Also, Leather goods are
much more chic, and look damned fine on the most often seen character in
Ironforge (the female Night Elf), even though said characters are
usually dancing naked on the Auction House bridge.
