I'm in the process of building a new machine, and decided I wanted to go with a 17" LCD instead of a standard CRT (I figure I'm used to 17" displays, might as well get the 17" LCD instead of a 21"+ CRT).
Anyway, after reading the good review of the NEC LCD1760V here on tomshardware, I figured I would go with that for a display.
Now I noticed that there's also a 1760VM, which has a DVI output (the 1760V doesn't), but there are a few other differences:
* 16 ms response for 1760V, 25 ms for the VM
* Contrast ratio of 450:1 for the V, 350:1 for the VM
* Brightness of 260 cd/m2 for the V, 250 cd/m2 for the VM
The cost difference between the two is $80 (at newegg.com), which I'm willing to pay, but the other differences, particularly the response time, concern me. Is the DVI connector worth the extra price and worse performance? Is there really that great a difference between 25ms and 16ms response?
