Will the radeon hd 6670 work in pcie 1.0 x16 slot?

I'm gonna get the ASUS EAH6670 1gb gddr5. I have a gigabyte ga g31m es2l v1. Can anyone check and find out whether it will work. Is ASUS a good brand. My other specs include a c2d, 2 gb ram and 450 w psu.

Asus is generally a good brand for everything they make. There's been some issues with using PCIe 2.1 cards in 1.0 boards. However this is almost always fixed by updating the BIOS
