I recently changed from wired to wireless connection and for some reason or another the wireless is actually faster, about 2.5 times. I have a D-Link 2640R router which is 10/100 on ethernet and 54 on wireless. My PC has built in Realtek Gigabit LAN. What can I do to make wired go faster?

Unless the ethernet cable is bad that really should not be the case. Wired should normally be faster than the wireless.
Although with a good laptop the difference in the speeds would be minimal.

My question is, if the wireless works good and is fast like you need it then why would you want to go back to a wired system?
