so i just bought this laptop (MSI FX720) for 500$ :D
6ddr3 gb.... 520m geforce 1vggdr5.... i5 2410m... 18"... anyway, i have a question....

ive never had a laptop before but i know that it can get a lil hot. my girlfriend says that its not hot at all but it does feel hot to me.

1. How can i know how hot my GPU is while playing?
2. How can i know im runnning the 520m instead of the intel graphics (integrated)? I know how supposedly to turn it off and use the 520m but i read somewhere that i should feel or hear the fan of the 520 go nuts when playing, i dont feel no fan or anything that could make me think that its the 520 runing.

More about : hot gpu

believe me, you will know if you were in a game and using Intel graphics. some wont even run.

The 520 will likely not have its own fan. normally the CPU and gpu heatsinks are connected and use one ducted fan. it only speeds up if it gets hot, and it only screams if its really hot. since yours isn't overheating not an issue
