How to use wi-fi tv

Just purchased new tv equiped with WI-FI will I need to hook up my PC to the tv in order to use the WI-FI

The WIFI in the TV is there to connect to a wireless router instead of running a network cable. If you already have a wireless router then just connect the TV to the router using the passphrase.
