Graphics card for my htcp acer aspire 3400g

i have a acer aspire 3400g with a dedicated asus gt430 ddr3 1gig, computer has 4gig memory, 3.1ghz dual core.

i play diablo, i can run it at 1080 around 50 fps, but want a upgrade to it running smoother. thinking about getting a psu to sit outside the computer because its a slimline, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151093&nm_mc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r&cm_mmc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r-_-Power+Supplies-_-SeaSonic+USA-_-17151093

would that psu be fine and work with my connectors in my computer.

and what graphics card would be an upgrade?

  1. can you please post your computer on here? so we can see what ur PC is saying its a slimline does not mean much you can get small PSU to fit in HTPC for media and Media Gaming

if talking about something like that?

Few suggestions i could offer you

1st: Buy a new Case and put all ur hardware into a new case and then buy a PSU and a GPU i could even help u find a cheap case

    http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1201&products_id=20243

2nd: could buy something like this http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_535&products_id=7163 it may not fit but iv seen few people have this outside there case as a spare power source

Prices are different depending on your country but im from australia so we australians get ripped of

i highly reccomand 1st option 550ti is cheap and would do all u need unless your aiming higher but ith your current cpu anything better would bottleneck the GPU this would be max i would go in GPU for that current setup

my computer is a slimline acer aspire ax3400g, 200psu i believe, it has a gt430 asus which is a decent card here and there but i need something better.. i was thinkin about starting a gaming computer i have around 350 dollars to start one. i dont kno about taking all the stuff outta my computer because the motherboard is mini and the graphics pci is at the top which is wierd. i dont kno. i can tak pictures if needed, help me start something nice. I WAS LOOKING AT THE ASUROCK 75M MOTHERBOARDS. THOSE THINGS ARE BEEFY WITH THE FMI APUS.
  3. what i suggest is buying all parts .. part from the graphics card and then buy GPU once u saved some money

you can go amd or intel i could help you pick the parts if you like
  4. Going with more powerful card will not do you any good unless you plan to upgrading other components later. Saying the country you are from would help - prices are different around the globe. I'd say you have two choices:
    1. Staying with old graphics card and getting other components now, and when you have more money, upgrade the graphics card.
    2. Upgrading graphics card now and getting other components later, that way even if your current system bottlenecks, once you will upgrade you'll have a balanced setup.

350 isn't really enough for a full build, that's why I'm not suggesting buying everything.
  5. yes i would love help picking my first computer from some pros! :) im from united states. im pretty sure anybody not from there hate us, i hope u build me a nice computer. but what i was thinking is i could get a motherboard psu and case and use my existing gt430 for the mean time, and use the ram and 1tb hardtrive for the mean time to use that new computer until i can buy a better graphics card??? in 2 weeks ill have 500 plus for a build. THIS IS WHAT IM LOOKING AT CURRENTLY

CPU/ AND GPU IN 1 CHIP (GENIUS) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103942

Keeping that graphics card is a great idea, however, the CPU you've linked is terrible. I've chosen something MUCH better than that :)

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

    CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ($169.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($28.99 @ NCIX US)
    Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($114.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($44.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair 500W ATX12V Power Supply ($51.98 @ Newegg)
    Total: $410.94
(Prices include shipping and discounts when available.)

Oh, give me a second by the way, is the PC is only used for HTPC business? If so, parts I linked are very much overkill.

Yes i play diablo 3 pretty much thats it. I do need something powerful enough to decode movies to burn them i use convertxtodvd for that it has to take 1 hour to decode before burning the bluray movie, i want somethin that will play diablo 3 on high no hiccups, so really the only thin i need is a better graphics but i gotta get all new stuff. I need usb 3.0 also. Id like a decent gaming machine nothin over kill.
  8. Well, if you buy the parts I linked you'll have a very powerful machine, which will last you many years and will play many games to come.
  9. i do say get intel but not i5 2500k for same price little more or so you can get ivry bridge version this
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504
    uses lower power=better
if your RAM is DDR3 then use that
case well Coolermaster or Antec make nice cases i perfer Antec but its personal taste
and a Power supply go wth Corsair the List above is a decent computer you just got pick what Company you want for your motherboard and ect and a CPU cooler is nice to have but if you plan overclock i would suggest corsair h80 or h70 they pretty cheap and maintence free
