aHey, just on the last bit of my new build, I can't seem to get the white LED front fans (there's two) on my corsair carbide 400r to work, mainly because I'm not sure what to connect it to.
Here's the front of the case where the fans are:

Both fans attach to this first:

Then this is the connector (in my hand):

It does fit into one of the extra molex connectors that came with the PSU, but on the other side of the Molex connector is a black 8pin PCIe connector (I think!) whereas my PSU only has space for two six pins left. There is an 8 pin there but it's blue and doesn't fit.

Unless it's meant to connect to the motherboard?

Thanks,
By the way I have a Gigabyte Ga z77 d3h motherboard

Thought I cracked it just now as it fits this to connect to the system fan on the motherboard - but they don't run when I power the machine up. Not sure if I have to initialise it some way? I could see nothing in the bios

You either connect the fan directly to the motherboard with a 3/4 pin, or you connect it to a molex line with a big 4 pin molex connector.

Fans can connect to the motherboard, to the PSU or dedicated fan controller. You are better off through the motherboard as the PSU will have them running at full RPM which is quite loud.

That 4-pin socket attached to the molex shown in the 4th picture connects to old floppy drives, you dont have to worry about those.

Look on your motherboard and usually at the bottom right or just above the CPU socket will be headers with 3 pins sticking out, with text near it saying something like "CHA_FAN". The fans on the case connect to these headers. Dont confuse them with the 4-pin "CPU_FAN" headers.
