Final checks before buying...Suggestions welcomed!

Hey all,
First of all, I'm completely new to computer building but this is what I got so far after countless hours of surfing through the web. I want this to be a gaming desktop with budget around $800-$1000. Am I missing any addition parts of making a computer? Meaning that if I bought all of these parts will it be enough to build a functional computer other than the monitor of course. Also, I'm going to connect this computer to the internet through Ethernet cables what exactly am I suppose to purchase for that or does it come with the motherboard already? Thanks for helping! Any tips/suggestions for a first time building would be appreciated!! :wahoo:

More about final checks buying suggestions welcomed
  1. I prefer the Ivy Bridge CPU with the Ivy Bridge mobo. Similar prices.

  2. I Like it but by just exceding your budget a little, I think a GTX 670 or an HD 7950 would serve you better. Just a thought...
    I see no compatibility issues
An RJ45 cable should be all you need to connect your computer to your modem.
My best tip for a first build is to read your mobo manual and also to watch part two of the Newegg series on building - I've actually watched it through a few times (and I've been building and repairing computers for over 15 years)

One other tip - if you are unsure of where any of the connections go, ask first! Better to ask than to risk burning up ~$1000 of equipment.
    Enjoy your build.
  3. do you have the OS?
  4. 16GB RAM is probably overkill. 8GB would be MORE than enough for any regular use + gaming for the near future. 16GB is only needed if you will be doing video editing or other higher function processing.
