Harddrive error

i have just finished building my first computer build everything runs smooth up until it says loading os. the windows 7 logo begins but then quickly changes to a screen where it says repair windows or run it normally if i choose to repair it it will take some time but after a while it will say cannot repair the drive contact the administrator or if i choose start windows normally it will continue looping to the screen where it says repair windows or start it normally. the hard drive works perfectly as im using it right now on this computer any suggestions?

your not moving a hard disk with windows installed to your computer are you? You must do a fresh install of windows when you install a hard disk onto a new motherboard.

yeah thats what i was trying to do i moved the hard drive i currently have on this computer. so i would have to wipe the disk clean in order to use it?
