Hello, these are the specs iam going for:
cpu-phenom II 965 black edition
gpu-asus GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1gb
motherboard- asus m4n68t-m v2
ram-8gb
hard drive-500gb WD
psu - xtremegear 500 watt
now my question is, would the 500 what psu be fine or do you think i should upgrade to a 650 or 700 watt psu, or do you think the 500 watt psu would be able to last a little while?

More about : upgrade question

i will look into it, however do you think i would be able to get by with the 500 watt for the next little while, i am in between jobs and dont have much money to spend however i will be making a more solid build in the future

Just in case of upgrades in the future, go for a 650w PSU. May I recommend the XFX Core Series 650W PSU (I have the 850W - they are very good!)

For the moment 500w will be perfect, just so long as it has enough connectors for your components. Happy gaming!

Hi - 500w is fine for that sys & ok if you continue with 1 GPU.
The only pitfall I see is if the xtremegear 500w can't deliver
close(at least 375w) to it's rated output especially on the +12v rail(s)
