I need help with a wattage count... I justt can find the dang wattage for the MSI versionv of the HD7950. If someone can help me out i would be grateful! One of the wattage calculators i used didnt have the 7950 option so i used 6950 but wattage differes greatly. and the other one i used said i'd only need 371 W PSU LOL thats waaayy too low and i know it. Heres my setup...

AMD Phenom II x6 1055T 2.8GHz (125W)
8GB of non specific RAM
N68 VS3 UCC ASROCK MOBO
ATi HD6670 (Upgrading to MSI R7950)
CD-RW/DVD combo drive
1T 5400RPM HDD
2x 120mm Fans, one with LEDs
and the fan on the heatsink (80mm i think)

If someone with expertise in this area could help, i would be forever grateful hahaha! I just need to now if i should get a 700+W PSU, if not maybe higheror lower idk lol. I'd appreciate it

I fi8nd that really hard to believe, the 7950 uses 285 on load, and thats without OCing it, i would like to OC it. I've really got my guns stuck to a 700 W because i plan on changing to intel or a better AMD CPU in the future. Thansk for the reply though, that was quick!

this is just wrong dude. the max a 7950 could pull is only 225 unless you modified something because it takes 2 75w connectors and the pcie slot supplies an additional 75w. also the 7950s pull less then a 6950 and i have a 6950 and a 500w psu and am fine.

its 202 watts with a factory OC'd card:

add 150 watts for the rest of your system and you have a total of 350 watts; 70% of a 500 watt PSU.

*disclaimer a quality 500 PSU. corsair, seasonic, XFX, antec . . .

Alright, thanks for thereplys on here, sorry i was gone out with some friends these past few weeks and havent gotten around to this. I guess i was wrong on the wattage, but i think im going to just go for the Gigabyte verson of the GeForce GTX 670 (2GB). The clocks are amazing and the power usage is surprising low. I had planned on upgrading to a SB i5 2500K or one of the many i7s to choose from. That said, i know now that my baseline need is 500W or (>) but i just dont want to buy a PSU and then have to buy another because of my ignorance, Again this is appreciated!!

Edit: i thought i'd mention that i had learned quite a bit about wattage from the time i was gone with my friends, (my friend is in the same predicament but on a larger scale), compared to what i knew when i posted this, and i now see that me "sticking my guns to a 700WPSU" was an ignorant mistake! Thanks for the patience guys!
