Fuzzy letters with HDMI on a Syncmaster 2494hs

Is there any way of getting rid of these fuzzy letters? If I connect my monitor to a DVI or VGA port, the "effect" goes away. I already tried adjusting cleartype to no avail... ![:??:]( ":??:")
It seems it's not apparent in all parts of the screen. It's like there are vertical columns where it's worst.
