Fuzzy letters with HDMI on a Syncmaster 2494hs

Is there any way of getting rid of these fuzzy letters? If I connect my monitor to a DVI or VGA port, the "effect" goes away. I already tried adjusting cleartype to no avail...

It seems it's not apparent in all parts of the screen. It's like there are vertical columns where it's worst.

What GPU are you using? and what is the resolution that you have set the monitor at?
Are you using the driver software to control the screen or are you letting windows do the stuff for you?
