HD 6670 DDR3/Corsair CX430 for my system? $100 budget

Hi Guys,

I've been surfing the forums/reviews and have found ALOT of great info. here. I'm looking to upgrade my PSU and GPU after discovering the POS video card that came with my comp. won't run Diablo3. This GPU will be used to play D3 and World of Warcraft. Here is my current setup:

Compaq Presario CQ5320Y
AMD Athalon II x2 240 dual core 2.8GHz
3gb DDR3
500gb HD
64-bit Win7

Based on my budget(low) and info. I've gathered around this site I've come up with:

HD 6670 DDR3 for 54.99 after rebate.
http://www.amazon.com/HIS-Radeon-128bit-Express-H667FS1...

Corsair CX430 for 34.99 after rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I'm still a poor college student so I'd like to stay under 100. I know I could buy some better GPU's for under 100 but the need for an upgraded PSU took some of my GPU budget.

Let me know your opinions, ideas, or maybe one of you have seen some better deals floating around out there.

thanks!

the best is getting 6670 and a 450W PSU (and the PSU you mentioned) imo will be enough, a simple OC to the CPU to 3GHz and you can play Diablo 3 all maxout with 40~35 fps avg, as for WoW medium settings will do fine in raids.

cx 430 will run a 6670. 6670 is a decent budget choice for diablo 3.
imo good choice on the psu.
make sure the card dimensions fit your case.
@RyQril: OP's prebuilt pc is highly unlikely to allow any cpu overclocking.

I am with the poster above.

A 6670 does not need any extra power(So it is under 75 watts, closer to 50-60 MAX). It will run on almost anything.

To add to this, I have a 5770 that does need extra power(6-pin cable) with a i5 750 on a 300 watt power supply(22A @ 12 volts) without issues.

The CX430 while more value oriented(28A @ 12 volts, the earthwatts 430 has 4 amps more, but with your config, it will not matter.) is still a good power supply.

You should have no problems at all.
