One IBM 60GXP 40GB not working.
+
One seriously pissed off owner.
=
One plea for an e-mail address / phone number for the U.K. contact for replacing my drive.

I've tried my supplier (E-buyer.com) with engaged phones, waiting "you are tenth in the queue", unreplied e-mails etc.

Seemed good until something went wrong.

Anyone know the IBM contact. I'd prefer not to have to browse the net for it if possible.

For your info if you need it for the future. This is what I got.

"The Hard Drive Helpdesk may be able to help you, they can be contacted on 0870 010 2866 or via email at <A HREF="mailto:drive@uk.ibm.com">drive@uk.ibm.com</A>
They also have a website which is <A HREF="http://www.ibm.com/harddrive" target="_new">http://www.ibm.com/harddrive</A>
Opening Hours: 09.00am-11.30am. 12.30pm-17.00pm MON - FRI"

Also:

"To answer your question we need more details in this case and we recommend our IBM diagnostic tool, the drive fitness test, shortly called DFT. This program works normaly also when your drive will not be recognize by BIOS anymore. You will find it on our website at:

<A HREF="http://www.storage.ibm.com/techsup/hddtech/welcome.htm#Drive fitness" target="_new">http://www.storage.ibm.com/techsup/hddtech/welcome.htm#Drive fitness</A>

The test need a bootable disk and it is possible that DFT can fix your problem immediately If not, DFT will give you a error code and a technical result code (TRC) and these codes help you to create a RMAnr, the return authorisation for an exchange, if the drive is in fact defective."

Thought it was worth sharing.

Thanks again.
